It is rare to find an artist willing to paint live.

And it's even more unusual to find one so trusting of his brush that he can create a large masterpiece in such a short period of time.  Such are the qualities and talents of Thom Bierdz, who has painted live at venues in New York, Phoenix, Chicago, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and Beverly Hills.

Charities... hire Thom to paint as the guests arrive and through dinner.  He plans his painting to finish just in time for the live auction.  Most recently, Thom's painting raised $6,000 at Paramount Studios for a charity on mental illness.  Immediately after the live auction, Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter spoke of her admiration for Thom.

Offices... create high profile entertainment by hiring Thom to paint at work parties, either presenting the finished art piece to an honoree, or as a surprise gift, or a raffle.

Weddings... hire Thom to do bright, Impressionist pieces commemorating their very special day.

Private parties... can hire Thom to paint for a special loved one at a candlelight dinner.

How can anyone paint so fast?  Keep in mind Van Gogh did 70 paintings in his last 60 days.  Picasso often painted more than one painting a day.  Thom is inspired by their styles, but is most often compared to Matisse or Warhol.

What happens when the painting is finished?  It is now part of your private collection.  You will be given a Certificate of Authenticity, a portfolio of current press and awards, and a DVD, which includes Thom's Entertainment Tonight cover story, other talk shows and TV appearances, gallery exhibits, etc.

How much does it cost?  $1,250.00.  A bargain because even Thom's smaller paintings start at $2,000 on his website www.ThomBierdz.com.   Thom is willing to lower his price at events for the exposure and networking opportunities.

Major exhibition of paintings by Thom Bierdz at the exciting Soicher-Marin Fine Art Gallery.

The red carpet reception was hosted by Scarlett Johansson complete with movie premier klieg light, and tons of paparazzi.  From the several hundred people who attended Mr. Bierdz's opening last night and their enthusiastic response to his work, it looks like he has arrived.  His work was all over the gallery, beautifully curated on twenty separate walls.  This was a major collection.  I saw people intensely discussing Thom's works and looking very moved by what they were seeing.  His art was receiving the kind of attention that is most gratifying to any artist-being taken seriously...a spectacular launching of a new talent in the art world.

Escape Artist "The next Warhol."

One painting might be purely decorative abstraction, another; an architectural interior or a figurative work. A single landscape might contain the following: asymmetrical branches that engulf a whimsical cabin; na•ve animals that refer to Henri Rousseau's paintings; atmospheric washes that evoke Rothko's use of vivid color; and bold strokes of shapes that seem to pay homage to Matisse.

Thom Bierdz channeled his grief onto the canvas-and came out a winner.

Taking another step that would transform his spirit, his career path and his life; he turned his emotions loose on the canvas. Bierdz is able to paint on that instinctual level...

Profile

Thom's art is a combination of expressionism, impressionism, surrealism and symbolism. Painting is what keeps him in the moment.  "Painting has been my therapy, and I have painted my whole life. I had never imagined my art would be my career and take over like this. People are surprised I have such heavy emotional pieces and, then, whimsical tree houses...
